How does iCloud sync work in MotorVault? ▼
MotorVault utilizes Apple CloudKit to seamlessly sync your garage data across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Ensure you are signed in with your Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is enabled in your device settings. Your data is synced privately to your personal iCloud container.
Is my vehicle data collected or shared with third parties? ▼
No. MotorVault is built with an Offline-First, Privacy-First architecture. We do not collect, track, or share any personal or vehicle data. Everything is stored locally on your device and inside your private Apple iCloud account.
How do I log a service record or attach receipt photos? ▼
Open any vehicle from your garage dashboard, tap on the "Service History" tab, and tap the "+" button. Select the service category (e.g., Oil Change, Brake Service), enter the odometer reading and cost, and optionally snap or select a photo of your receipt.
Can I switch units between MPG and L/100km? ▼
Yes! Go to the Settings tab in MotorVault and choose your preferred units for distance (Miles vs. Kilometers), fuel volume (Gallons vs. Liters), and fuel economy standard (MPG vs. L/100km vs. km/L).
How do I export my maintenance history when selling my vehicle? ▼
Navigate to the vehicle's detail page, tap the options menu in the top right, and select "Export Vehicle Passport". You can generate a comprehensive CSV spreadsheet or JSON backup to share with buyers or save to your Files app.
What should I do if I change my device or reinstall the app? ▼
Simply install MotorVault from the App Store on your new device and sign in with the same Apple ID. MotorVault will automatically fetch and restore your entire garage data from CloudKit in seconds.
