Privacy Policy for MotorVault

MotorVault ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when using the MotorVault iOS, iPadOS, and macOS applications.

1. Privacy-First Architecture

MotorVault is designed with a strict Offline-First and Privacy-First philosophy:

• We do NOT collect, transmit, rent, sell, or share any personal data, vehicle information, location data, or telemetry.
• All vehicle specs, maintenance logs, fuel records, document scans, and notes are stored locally on your device using Apple's native SwiftData framework.
• No user account registration or login with third-party servers is required to use MotorVault.

2. Apple iCloud Syncing (CloudKit)

MotorVault offers optional cloud synchronization using Apple's native CloudKit framework:

• When enabled, your vehicle data is stored exclusively inside your personal, private Apple iCloud account.
• Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.
• We do not have access to your private iCloud container, Apple ID, or stored data.

3. Camera & Photo Library Access

MotorVault may request permission to access your device's Camera or Photo Library solely for:

• Capturing or attaching photos of your vehicles for custom avatars.
• Scanning and attaching service receipts or glovebox documents (registrations, insurance policies).

All selected photos remain stored locally on your device and inside your private iCloud storage. Photos are never uploaded to any external server.

4. Notifications

MotorVault uses local iOS notifications to alert you of upcoming scheduled vehicle maintenance or insurance renewals. All notifications are scheduled and processed locally on your device. No remote push notifications or tracking services are used.

5. Analytics & Third-Party Tracking

MotorVault contains:

• ZERO Third-party SDKs or advertising trackers.
• ZERO Telemetry or analytics trackers.
• ZERO Data brokers or external advertising networks.

6. Data Ownership & Export Rights

You retain 100% ownership of your data. You can export your full garage records, maintenance history, and fuel logs at any time in standard CSV or JSON formats directly from the app settings. Deleting the application removes all local data.

7. Children's Privacy

MotorVault does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
